What starts out small, and takes a few decades to grow into their fullest form? We’ll give you a hint; they can provide a day’s supply of oxygen for four people. If you’re still clueless, we’re talkin’ about our planet’s wonderful trees! Since there is an insane amount of different types out there, we won’t be able to provide you with tattoo meanings for each. However, feel free to hit up this link for an article that goes into depth about the religious and cultural ties to tree tattoos, a breakdown of components included in tree tattoos and various types of trees with their corresponding meanings! With summer coming to an end and fall approaching, the trees around will soon be putting on a show with their beautiful multi-coloured, changing leaves! That’s of course unless you’re lucky enough to live in a climate that is warm all year round. Check out our fave tree inkbox designs that will help get you in touch with your roots.

Fir

In Celtic culture, Fir trees symbolize honesty, truth, and forthrightness due to how it grows in a straight and narrow fashion.

Similar to the Fir design we featured earlier, but on a larger scale! For those looking for the same simplistic design but for a larger space. Orotund is a word to express something full, strong, round, and imposing.

Willow

Willow trees are known to encapsulate freedom, healing, and love lost. They also have mystical meanings and symbolism behind them. Which reminds us, does anyone remember Weeping Willow from Harry Potter?! One magical tree we definitely would not want to mess with.

Kirchhoff

For all you tech-savvy peeps out there, this one's for you! A cool circuit inspired tree if you’re looking for an alternative take on nature. This design was named after Gustav Kirchoff, a German physicist who contributed to the understanding of electoral circuits, spectroscopy, and the emission of black-body radiation.
