What size would work best for my design?

Generally, the rule of thumb is: the more complex the design, the larger the canvas should be! ✅

Here's what works best on each canvas size (though your options aren't limited to these!) 👇🏽

  • 1 x 1, 1.5 x 1.5 or 2 x 2 inches: Small, simple designs
Examples of small, simple designs on 1 x 1 and 2 x 2 inch canvases
  • 1.5 x 3 or 3 x 3 inches: Designs with medium complexity and a few more elements (e.g. geometric, line work, text + image)
Examples of medium complexity designs on 1.5 x 3 and 3 x 3 inch canvases
  • 2 x 5 inches: Designs with medium complexity, a few more elements and a longer width (e.g. geometric, line work, text + image)
Examples of longer designs on a 2 x 5 inch canvas
  • 4 x 4 or 6 x 6 inches: Highly detailed and complex designs (e.g. heavy contrast shading, text + image, portraits, handwriting)
Examples of highly detailed designs on 4 x 4 and 6 x 6 inch canvases
  • 3 x 6 or 4 x 6 inches: Complex designs with a longer length or width (e.g. heavy contrast shading + more detailed elements, or longer lines of text)
Examples of complex, longer designs on 3 x 6 and 4 x 6 inch canvases
  • 6 x 10 inches: Super detailed and long designs (e.g. "sleeve" style designs with multiple, highly detailed elements)
