These scaly, fire-breathing creatures are one of the most legendary when it comes to mythology and folklore. Therefore, it’s not surprising that dragons have been a popular tattoo design choice for decades. Though all tattoos vary in meaning, it is common for dragon tattoos to symbolize the traits they hold such as strength, independence, courage, and power. Scroll through this post to check out our dope dragon-related inkbox tattoos!

Rhaegal

Named after a dragon from Game of Thrones, Rhaegal, who is one of the three dragons born on the Dothraki Sea along with Dragon and Viersion.

Ourboros

Ouroboros is a symbol from the manga series “Fullmetal Alchemist” that represents the eternal cycle of life and death.

Chuntian

In East Asian culture, the dragon represents balance. Specifically for the Chinese, the dragon represents one half of the ying and yang. Chinese dragons are also traditionally used as a symbol that represents great power such as control over water, rainfall, and floods. It is even said that people born the year of the Dragon are known to be powerful, kind-hearted, successful, and brave.

Akatosh

Named after the Dragon God of Time from Skyrim, this dragon represents endurance invincibility, and everlasting legitimacy.

Aegon

In Game of Thrones after the obliteration of Valyria, the Targaryens launched a devastating invasion of Westeros using three dragons to spearhead their attack.

Hanzo

Named after Hanzo from Overwatch, this tattoo represents his signature arrow, which travels 10 meters before transforming into a pair of dragons spiralling around each other. These dragons drive forward infinitely, unstoppable by enemies, or barriers.

Aeshna

Speaking of dragons, these lil creatures share some similarity in name so we thought we shouldn’t keep em in the dark!! This design is named after the Aeshna Granda dragonfly. The dragonfly symbolizes changes in self realization, and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life. Be a dragonfly in a world too full of flies.
