Doing Our Part During COVID-19

Our highest priority is the health and safety of you, our customers, and our hardworking team. We just wanted to share with you a few of the steps we’re taking to stay safe.

Hi Inkfam,

Inkbox here, checking in. How are you? If your answer is just “OK” that’s OK. There’s no question that these are unfamiliar and uncertain times. Know that you’re not alone, we’re in this together. In the last couple of weeks, days, we’ve thought of each and every one of you and how we can help each other stay safe. With every new day, there are moments of fear, but there are also moments of awe for watching the world, and this community, come together.

Our highest priority is the health and safety of you, our customers, and our hardworking team. We just wanted to share with you a few of the steps we’re taking to stay safe.

Our commitment to you

  • While the majority of our team is working remotely, we have a dream team of fulfillment and operations members that will continue to create and ship your tattoos out of our HQ in Canada. It’s so important to us to continue providing you all with our ink. If we can help to give you the tools for more fun and creativity during this time, we want to do so. Together we can try to make this moment a little lighter.

  • With every order, we’re taking extra precautions throughout our production and packing lines. Our fulfillment team now follows a mandatory use of gloves, increased sanitization of tools and equipment, on top of deep cleans 3x daily. As always, our tattoos are made in ISO Grade 7 clean rooms. In doing so we’ll continue to serve all of you with the highest standards.

  • Unfortunately, there are a number of countries to which shipping may be impacted. We’re monitoring the situation very closely and checking in with our shipping partners daily to ensure your package arrives safely and quickly. To see a list of affected countries, check out our Help Center.

  • Our amazing Customer Experience team is still available for any questions you may have. Whether it’s tracking down an order, answer any questions about the current situation or our product, we’re here to help at hi@getinkbox.com

  • If you’re looking for a positive place to spend some of your digital time, hit us up on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Content stops for nothing and we’ve got some fun things planned for you in the coming weeks.

Our commitment to the team

  • As mentioned, the majority of our team is currently working remotely and refraining from any travel. Not to worry though, we’re still getting our daily dose of office doggos over video chats. Now for the first time ever, cats are allowed in meetings too!

  • The team that does remain in the office to fulfill and ship your orders is following a number of new protocols. There are never more than 15 employees in the office, with everyone stationed a minimum of 6 feet away. The cadence of deep cleans and sanitization has been upped substantially, as well as the use of gloves. We’ve also shifted the schedule in such a way as to avoid peak commuting hours and generally less exposure.

  • Our full-time employees are encouraged to use some features of their benefits, including our Employee Assistance Program, a great resource if anyone is feeling the effects of COVID-19 on their mental health.

  • If a member of our team does fall ill, we're ensuring financial continuity for them through our Short Term Disability program.

Our commitment to the community

  • We hope to lend a helping hand in this fight against the virus. That's why both our Research and Development and Engineering teams are busy working on a formulation for hand sanitizer. We plan to donate to vulnerable communities as well as offer it for sale to the general public since we know how hard it is to come by.

  • We've recently begun the development of face shields for local healthcare workers. Approved by Health Canada, we’re thrilled to donate these shields to our community and get them into the hands of our frontline heroes. This week we're donating 100. Over the coming weeks, we'll be producing and donating thousands more.

  • We're so excited to be donating 100,000 sanitization kits to homeless shelters, food banks, and local service workers. Using a surplus of inventory from our Freehand Ink Pro Kits, we are filling these pouches with items such as gloves and alcohol wipes.

  • We've also donated 100,000 nitrile gloves to Sick Kids - Canada's largest children's hospital. When we received an email from them requesting PPE our immediate response was: "Anything we can do to keep these children safe."

This is an ever-changing situation and one that we’ll be watching closely. We hope that you can find moments of fun and creativity during this difficult time.

Remember: it’s just for now, not forever.
